Prepare With Purpose
Use these practical tools to familiarize yourself with testing formats, pacing requirements, and assessment expectations.
20 m Shuttle Run Audio
Use the 20 metre Shuttle Run audio to become familiar with the progressive pacing signals used during the assessment.
Training with the audio can help you understand the timing of the signals. It does not guarantee a passing result and should be used as part of a safe, progressive training plan.
Using the Audio Responsibly
The Shuttle Run is a progressive aerobic assessment. Candidates should develop their fitness gradually rather than repeatedly performing maximal tests without sufficient recovery.
- Warm up properly before beginning.
- Use a flat, clear, non-slip running surface.
- Measure the full 20 metre distance accurately.
- Wear appropriate indoor athletic footwear.
- Allow adequate recovery between demanding sessions.
- Stop if you experience pain, dizziness, or unusual symptoms.
